Moore Farms is a private estate in rural South Carolina. Much of the land is managed as production farm, for forestry and wildlife habitat. 15 acres is managed as a botanical collection and garden. The gardens include formal shrub borders, an organic vegetable garden, a naturalistic pond garden and newly planted arboretum. The garden and land planning is recently developed but the farm has been in operation in the same family for decades. The location is very isolated, rural and hot. Applicants must be comfortable with strenuous work in a hot, humid climate. Pictures and information at www.mooreplants.com.
