Intern Project Fall of 2009

Kellen Goodell is a graduating senior from the University of Florida.
He is in the Horticultural Sciences Department specializing in Organic
and Sustainable Agriculture. Kellen assisted Evan Clements (Black
Pudding Farms) on the 2 acre organic fruit and vegetable production
farm for the end of summer and most of the fall growing season. Kellen
was also involved with the initial stages of the large Magnolia
grandiflora collection at Moore Farms.

*Goldsboro, NC - Center for Environmental Farming Systems, High tunnel
season extension growing with Steve Moore
*Raleigh, NC - J.C. Raulston Arboretum, large, diverse collection of
Southeastern plants. Will Hooker's home, permaculture discussion
*Charleston, SC - Drayton Hall, American College of Building Arts,
Charleston Parks Conservancy with Jim Martin, two days taking care of
private Charleston garden.
*Gainesville, FL - Kanapaha Botanical Garden, large southeastern
tropical and subtropical plant collection including bamboo, cycads,
and palms.
*Charleston, SC - attended the 2009 Palmetto Institute Agribusiness
Summit at the Francis Marion Hotel in downtown Charleston, networking
and various important speakers on the state of agribusiness in South
Carolina, also a great, all South Carolina-grown meal including
Rainbow Swiss Chard from our very own Black Pudding Farms.
